Brendan’s practice revolves around complex technology disputes. Brendan also routinely advises tech companies of all sizes on corporate governance matters and regulation.
Brendan has broad civil litigation experience including having represented clients in the Federal Courts, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Nova Scotia Supreme Court. Brendan has also represented clients in commercial arbitration and at various federal tribunals.
In addition to tending to his practice, Brendan is part-time faculty at the Schulich School of Law as a team coach for the annual Harold G. Fox Canadian Intellectual Property Moot.
Desormeaux v. Oloko, 2026 ONSC 162 – Successfully obtained leave to bring a derivative action on behalf of a Bitcoin ATM company pursuant to s. 239 of the Canada Business Corporations Act, R.S.C. 1985, c. C-44.
Dinca et. al. v. Huobi Global Limited et. al, 2025 (Unreported) – Successfully obtained a Norwich Order for third party production against eighteen (18) Respondents in a complex cryptocurrency pig-butchering fraud case.
Chafe v. Munro et. al – 2025 ONSC 2712 – Represented the CEO of a blockchain development company in a corporate dispute over the interpretation of a defaulting shareholder provision within the company’s shareholder agreement.
Canadian Maritime Engineering Ltd. v. Ionada Incorporated, 2024 FC 878 – In respect of contempt proceedings in Federal Court following a failure of a witness to answer questions to examinations for discovery in aid of execution in relation to their assets.
Omega Formwork Inc. v. 778938 Ontario Limited, 2023 NSSC 308 – Successfully obtained an order consolidating two related actions having claims arising from the same condominium development project, where pleadings for one claim had not yet closed and the trial dates for the other had already been secured.
