Crypto Fraud
Pig-Butchering Scams
Pig-butchering scams are a sophisticated form of cryptocurrency fraud. Based on our experience, you are likely a victim of a pig-butchering scam if:
There is a website or application where you either (1) Trade Cryptocurrency; or (2) Complete Tasks for a “job”.
You came across the website through an advertisement on social media, such as Facebook, Youtube, or Instagram or you received a text message directly from someone offering you a job opportunity.
You spoke to real people on the phone and via text message, but did not see anyone on video chat and you did not meet anyone in real life.
When you try to withdraw your cryptocurrency, you are told there are “fees” such as withdrawal fees, gas fees, or taxes.
Other Types of Fraud
Other types of cryptocurrency related fraud include:
- Recovery Scams: A company promised they would help you “recover” your stolen cryptocurrency.
- Phishing Scams: Your cryptocurrency wallet was drained. One way this happens is when you click a malicious link and sign a transaction using your wallet.
- Rug Pulls: You purchased cryptocurrency, such as a memecoin, and the development team ran off with your funds.

You ask, we answer
Have questions? We’ve got you covered. Browse our FAQs for clear, straightforward answers to the most common questions about your legal rights and how we can help.
We begin with a one hour consultation to determine exactly what happened. Following the consultation, we provide you with several options, to proceed forward which may or may not involve court intervention.
Recovery can be very simple or extremely complex. Our initial consultation helps us understand the complexity of the fraud you were subject to and to provide a reasonable basis for next steps. There is no such thing as guaranteed recovery. Our goal is to identify the individuals involved in perpetrating fraud against you and bringing them to justice.
The length of the process varies on a case-by-case basis. In some cases, we have recovered in under 6 months. In other cases, we have been in court for years and may remain in court for years without a guarantee of recovery.
We work primarily with victims of fraud in Ontario, Canada. However, the fraudsters can be anywhere in the world.
*Disclaimer
Recovery is not guaranteed. If you are a victim of fraud, please set up a consultation with us ($250 + tax) to discuss your matter.
